Organizing Twists & Turns, Like a Winding Road

Beware of the voice in your head telling you that BECOMING organized should be "efficient."
That is what BEING organized FEELS like! #itsafeeling
For years, I have had this Family Circus cartoon in my head as a visual representation of my work with clients, and so this seems like a great place to start my Blog! Every session I have with a client takes us to interesting places, usually outside the area we are working, and that is SWELL!
I urge you to embrace the winding organizing journey. Be curious! However, if something belongs in a different place, simply make a bin, pile, or bag of "Not Here", but keep moving forward with "Here Now." My catch phrase for this is, "Zone it out." This is an essential tenet of reaching the intended goal you set for your valuable time. People tend to get STUCK trying to decide what to do with incongruent items, which then wastes time better spent on the EASY stuff.
I promise you that when you start to edit any area, you will find stuff that you actually MISSED! This is when I exclaim, "Shop at home!" And I hope you will too.
Please remember this: the most important part of getting organized is to START! #juststart
If you get stuck, never hesitate to reach out to me.
I love that cartoon, and that is how I feel sometimes while organizing. This is great advice! I'm going to have you in my head to just start! I'm looking forward to more of your posts.
Thank you, Carolyn! This is great!
Very insightful and supportive. Thanks for sending!!!
